In the present edition there is an element of chance, regarding the way the pages are scaled. That sometimes leads to text being printed relatively bigger, at the expense of surrounding white space, which is considered dispensable by the automated scanning devices that have been employed.

As a result, lines which have been composed by Mallarmé to continue over the spread, from a verso to a recto page, do not match anymore.
