This exhibition is meant to address the latest developments in artists’ book history. An amazing corpus of new works makes up a most dynamic overview. There are many books dealing with topics such as emptiness, space, or the very substance of pages, and we deemed it necessary to look at the influence of books that have been published in neighbouring fields to that of the artist’s book or bookworks publications, in order for us to better define our investigation. Showing all facets and aspects through the most significant images was an option made difficult by the abundance of publications. We attempted to identify and showcase the current ideas and needs of the artist’s book medium (see below the list of books exhibited).
The exhibition Blank Book Makers is initiated by Izet Sheshivari and Ramaya Tegegne and curated and set up by Izet Sheshivari at Fonderie Kugler, Geneva.

C’est aux phases les plus récentes de l’histoire du livre d’artiste que nous avons voulu consacrer cette exposition. Une prodigieuse éclosion d’œuvres forme le panorama le plus dynamique que l’ont puisse concevoir. Les livres dont le contenu évoque ou s’articule autour de thèmes tels que le vide, l’espace ou la matérialité même de la page sont nombreux et il nous a été indispensable de considérer l’influence d’ouvrages édités dans des champs voisins de celui du livre d’artiste ou du «Bookworks» pour préciser notre investigation. Vouloir en montrer toutes les facettes, tous les aspects, par les images les plus significatives, exigeait un choix que l’abondance des réalisations rendait difficile. Nous avons essayé de dégager et de mettre en valeur les idées et les nécessités du médium du livre d’artiste d’aujourd’hui (voir ci-dessous liste des livres exposés).
L'exposition Blank Book Makers est initiée par Izet Sheshivari et Ramaya Tegegne et organisé et mis en place par Izet Sheshivari à la Fonderie Kugler, Genève.
